Love Your Work Review

Book Review:

Don’t think this book applies to you? – READ IT ANYWAY! This book is helpful for ANYONE in ANY stage of their career. For most people there is going to be at least one nugget of information to help you. It provides a great framework to analyze your career and your life to make sure you are going in the right direction or help get you going that way. The book mentions tons of great resources to do a skills assessment, add skills, build your resume, find a job and even finding a “side-gig”. At a point in my life where I am pondering what my next move is, how I can improve my career and my contribution to my employer best, this book was exactly what I needed to read. Readers will feel confident that they have a great system to analyze their current situation, their passions/skills/etc., the job market, specific employer cultures and make the right choice if seeking a new employer. If someone is staying in their current job, it still gives great feedback/suggestions on how to evaluate what you could do to improve or advance to your next position. The tone is fun and light making it an easy read, unlike some of the other books with more formal tones. I am going to keep this book handy and continually reference to keep my career on track and I believe it will be a large part of my success. I would recommend this book to anyone who is serious about improving their career.
